MichelleEast.jpgHi! My name is Michelle East.

As I was growing up, I watched my brother Mark Miller develop his amazing art skills. He and my great grandmother Elsie C. Patty were my inspiration to begin drawing in junior high and to eventually pursue an art career. I graduated from Hardin-Simmons University with a BA in studio art. I have worked as a graphic designer, freelance artist, and art educator. Currently, I am an art teacher for a private school and have been teaching 3rd grade-high school art for the last 12 years. I feel blessed to be in an occupation that I LOVE!

Acrylic painting is my favorite medium to work in, but I also enjoy the challenges of watercolors and have been focusing on improving my skills in this medium. I was introduced to printmaking in college and fell in love with that medium as well. With printmaking, the joy comes in the process. I am drawn to realism, bright colors and pattern, these elements influence my work.

I believe that the Lord Jesus has given me a talent & desire for art. It is my hearts desire that He be glorified in all I create!

I would love to hear from you!
